HISTORIC OVERVIEW
Santa Barbara has a rich aviation history dating back to 1914.
- The Airline Terminal itself, along with the historic tower shown below, was constructed in 1942 by United Airlines.
- Additions were made in 1967 and 1976.
- Since 1976, many Terminal functions have been relocated.
- Post - 9/11: TSA accommodations have been added.
- 2006-2010: The Airline Terminal Project is another important historic step that will improve our efficiency in the future.
